Bones for Life teachers and trainers have access to a wonderful resource which we use to tell the story of the African water carriers’ walk -- the 1993 documentary, “When the Moment Sings,” by British ethnomusicologist John Collins and Norwegian anthropologist Jon-Roar Bjorkvold.

This film demonstrates the difference between the elegant, musical, and very practical walk of African women who carry heavy objects on their heads for miles with apparent ease – and the stilted, strained, inefficient walk of typical Western men and women.

As a way of continuing to talk to our community about Bones for Life®, we will hold a free showing of this documentary, along with a question and answer period, and a brief experiential Bones for Life® lesson.

This event, which requires pre-reservation and has free admission, is held every two months in Lexington at the Mind Body Studio, 517 Southland Drive. Adults and teens invited.
